2012 Tourbeau College Soccer Showcase

Player Application is HERE

The 2012 Tourbeau College Soccer Showcase is a unique opportunity for the top college soccer players in the United States and Canada to participate in a week long "training camp" atmosphere in front of the top professional and professional developmental clubs from around the world including MLS, USL, NASL, PDL and NPSL and other international top flights.

The showcase will take place at the beautiful Orange Beach SportsPlex in Orange Beach, Alabama surrounded by several quality soccer pitches designed for an event of this magnitude. The dates will be from December 3-7, 2012.

Headlining the showcase will be several top professionals to speak and interact with the showcase pool during panel discussions from Montreal Impact, Vancouver Whitecaps, LA Galaxy and several others.

Starting Tuesday, players will begin training in a variety of programs, drills, practices, small-sided games and classroom seminars by coaches. By the end of the week, players will have also played several 11v11 matches as well.

What makes the showcase like no other is the exclusivity of the player selection list. Application to be a participant must require each player to be currently playing at a NAIA-based institution only. Also, the showcase is allowing (20) ten "wildcard" spots available for NCAA Division 1, 2 and 3 players as well as International players who have strictly played with a pro Youth Academy outside the US. In addition, participants who have played and/or graduated with an NAIA/NCAA team within the past three seasons may also apply. A total of 105 players will be selected upon application approval and completion. 98 field players, 7 goalkeepers. Furthermore, all players will be separated into seven teams, each supervised by a current collegiate Head Coach.

Different from last year, applications are being received for all college grades of players, from Freshmen through 5th-year Seniors. "After speaking with numerous clubs, especially some of the top flight clubs who also have PDL teams, it is important for early exposure and development", added president Chase Neidig.

"We want to provide the pro clubs what THEY want, while giving the players the best possible opportunity." If a 'cream of the crop' can be found as a Freshman in college, we want that kid here at the event. It gives pro organizations the chance to put the player into their system early and recognize his talents - eventually gaining a contract after more experience."

The seven coaches for this year's event are some of the top college coaches in the nation. The list includes: Chris Kranjc (Hastings), Roy Patton (Mobile), Gary Ross (Taylor), Matt Hotchkin (Grace IN), Sean Fraser (Midland), Danny Leavy (Trevecca Nazarene) and others to be announced in the coming days.

The location and time is absolutely perfect and critical to the success of the showcase. The Tourbeau College Soccer Showcase recognizes the importance of maximum exposure for each player. As a result, we have scheduled the showcase in between two of the most exciting and dynamic college soccer events in the country- NAIA Men's Soccer National Championships (Nov 26-Dec 1), NCAA Division 2 College Cup in Pensacola, FL, NCAA Division 1 College Cup (Dec 7-9); all of which will be in Alabama/Florida in 2012. With this, we conveniently make it possible for all professional scouts, technical directors, coaches and management to attend this unbelievable event.

Participants will be hosted at the brand new Hampton Inn and Suites Gulf Shore Resort (opened April 2011) that offers top-class amenities, around the clock hospitality, beach front views from each guest's room and from the fitness center. Much more detail will give each participant an idea of the quality of the showcase in December.

Not only will the environment and week-long events prove to be nothing less than spectacular, the showcase will open the doors for exposure and marketability for every player via the web. The showcase will offer a full line of digital interaction including live, video web-streaming for every 11v11 match, interviews from players and coaches, Resume DVD's for every player and much more.

Furthermore, Tourbeau Sports will be unveiling a state-of-the-art player scouting profile database, TourbeauTrak, for professional representatives to use during the showcase. TourbeauTrak is an Apple developed application for the iPhone and iPad designed specifically by and for Tourbeau Sports and the Tourbeau College Soccer Showcase. At the showcase, a row of iPads will be available for professional clubs to view and analyze each participant at the showcase with career stats, pictures, past videos, live video of showcase, other coaches' testimonials and the participants contact information.

The staff for the Tourbeau College Soccer Showcase fully understands the "small fish in a big pond" mentality.  That's where we come in. We have seen the talent at the NAIA, NCAA-D3/D2, and NJCAA level. Will you be one of them? We've made it possible, here's your opportunity!

In its first year, in 2011, the event produced more than 12 players with clubs at the next level for players including several professional contracts (1 in every 5.5 players were the result). The TCSS plans to double, if not, triple the amount of success in its second-year. Players who came through the Tourbeau Showcase and the Tourbeau Sports system- includes Tampa's Draymond Washington (NASL), Pittsburgh's Dawyne "Ricky' Smith (USL-PRO), Kitsap's Ben Truax (PDL-PRO), Harrisburg's Tom Mellor (USL-PRO) and many others.
