TSG announces National Online-Televised College Soccer Game of the Week Broadcast Schedule

Tourbeau Sports Group is happy to announce the official promotion for the 2013 Fall Men’s Soccer Season and "Tourbeau's National Men's Soccer Game of the Week Broadcast presented by NSCAA and Admiral Soccer”.

The twelve-game broadcast schedule highlights teams from twelve (12) different NAIA conferences and every program nationally ranked in the Top 25 national polls or receiving votes from many past NAIA powerhouses. The schedule includes conference season winners, conference titles, national tournament invitees and each of four final teams in the 2012 National Championship.

The initiative, inspired and produced by Tourbeau Sports, is the desire of the company to help develop, market and progress the programs, schools, players and the NAIA through a national online broadcast platform to increase and maximize the quality and standard by these parties.

The national broadcast productions will include a full on-site professional staff at each venue, each week throughout the fall including multiple camera angles, multiple commentators and producers. A staff of editors will also be available off location to produce highlights and full game footage to local tv stations to colleges, as well as a possibility to provide programming for national tape-delayed broadcasts to national soccer television channels, in which TSG is currently working to promote.

Our group has been fortunate enough to be the official video production company of the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Tournament since 2008, and have been the go-to resource for identifying talent and highlights for NAIA players.

As a result, TSG also established the Tourbeau Pro Soccer Combine. The event allows for a select group of NAIA top players to attend the combine showcase to show off their talent in front of professional teams and scouts in a week-long environment. In its first two years, the event has been attended by over 130+ players, with 33 current players signing a professional or professional-development contract as a result of the service.

As for this opportunity, this broadcast programming project encapsulates another piece to the always-growing puzzle for TSG with NAIA Men’s Soccer and its desire to see players and programs be identified and recognized for their talent and commitment to the game.

Averaging over 8,000 hits for live and archived games per a broadcast, Tourbeau Sport expects over 100,000 hits within the Fall Season and beyond. The twelve-game broadcast schedule will kick-off on August 22 in Columbia, Kentucky as nine-time NAIA Men’s Soccer Champion, Lindsey Wilson College, hosts Crossroads League champion from 2012, Spring Arbor University.

The final match of the schedule will end on the outskirts of the Upstate of South Carolina when #22 Southern Wesleyan hosts #8 Southern Poly in a I-85 battle on November 2nd.

All Eyes on Columbus; NAIA Softball Kicks off in New Format at National Championship

Columbus, Georgia-

A new city. A new format. A new champion. All those are in fact true statements, as the 2013 edition of the NAIA Softball National Championship kicks off in Columbus, Georgia on Friday at the beautiful South Commons Sports Complex, the former host of the Summer Olympics back in 1996.

Many new story lines headline the national championship, most dawning would in fact be the transition to a 10-team, double-elimination tournament for the first time ever. With the transition from 32 teams to 16 teams, and now to 10 teams, will come a much more balanced and talented pool of players and programs.

No one should expect a skunk rule to be in effect, nor a perfect game. But you never know.

Several of the nation's top programs will go against each other after Georgia's Shorter University stole the show late last year in Gulf Shores, Alabama to capture the crown. This year, tournament-favorites will include Oklahoma City, who was the Runner-Up in 2012, as well as Cal State-San Marcos who has been a Final 4 contender in three of the last four outings.

Don't forget about Number #1 overall seed, Concordia-Irvine, who is coming in with an overall record of 48-3 on the year. More powerhouses will be in attendance including Lubbock Christian, while the SSAC will represent 4 out of the 10 teams at the tournament.

All the action will be available on the NAIA Network, produced and provided by Tourbeau Sports Group for the third straight year- the first time in Columbus. With the change in venue and format, TSG is proud to be able to provide a staggering 4-camera shot setup, 2 commentators, interviews and more for EVERY SINGLE GAME of this year's national tournament.

All games are available for purchase on a VIDEO DVD DOWNLOAD with full video and audio commentary. You can purchase those by clicking HERE.

PDL's Kitsap Pumas boast 7 former NAIA players on current 2013 Roster; benefit from Tourbeau Pro Combine

2011 PDL National Champions, the Kitsap Pumas, seem to have found their niche. The NAIA.

In a 'brand' of their own, the Bremerton, Washington-based soccer club is a professional-PDL side which is a model that doesn't exist within the 75+ team league across North America.

While working on a limited budget, coaches James Ritchie and Dusytn Brim travel thousands of miles across the country hunting down young, talented and unexposed players who are looking to crack into the professional ranks as a professional soccer player.
Ritchie (Right) talking to Ben Truax (Left) in 2012

Staying within the regulations of the league for age limits (over 23) and International slots, yet balancing the difference between their club and every other team in the league, being paid...is tricky and unique.

After securing the coveted PDL Championship crown just two seasons ago, you would expect the Pumas to be a high-profile program with every top collegiate player wanting a chance to play in the Northwest for the club....yet again-- pump the brakes.

These players are paid. And that is the difference.

The Kitsap Pumas can't go after the top collegiate players who are looking to hold onto their 'amateur status' as they can with other PDL franchise in the league. (Yet other teams in the league have had previous status to their name as a PDL-pro side, such as Hollywood Hitman and Dayton Dutch Lions in 2010)

And so comes the job of Ritchie and Brim.

The two eager coaches seem to have their footprints in every small city, university and combine in the country. And as a result, expect big results in an extremely tough Northwest Division alongside the Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps and other solid opponents.

Those footprints have been most visible in the smaller divisions and associations where the talent exists, but the exposure does not, like the NAIA.

For the 2013 season, the Kitsap Pumas have rostered a hefty seven (7) players who have played in the NAIA, and many of them as of very recent. This is not the first year either, as Ritchie snagged former Walsh University standout, Ben Truax, for the 2012 campaign.
Kennedy Chongo

Several of this year's players who boast numerous accolades and accomplishments at the NAIA level, have come as a result of the Tourbeau Pro Soccer Combine event in which the Pumas have taken full advantage of. The Pumas attended the event and have signed four players in the past two seasons as a result, while also picking up other notable former NAIA performers such as Biola's Kennedy Chongo (former MLS Chivas USA trialist).

Other players on the current roster also attended Tourbeau's event including Belhaven University standout, Alex Rodriguez and former Biola NAIA All-American goalkeeper Aaron Fenlason.

The consensus across the league, the soccer market, the college spectrum is.... the raw talent, pure skill and high level of play exists at ALL collegiate levels, but who is willing to invest loads of time and energy (like Kitsap) to find this niche in order to be successful?  THAT question will always be up for grabs.
